A 3-DAY CREATIVE RETREAT FOR 60 EXECUTIVES & CREATIVES IN MAINE

UNDER A MAINE BLUE SKY

Inspired by 5x unique shoe designs, the KINGSPØKE agency conceived a 3x day experience built to galvanize the new creative team, foster innovation and set up deep commitment within the company culture.

As Producer I oversaw the budget, the creative conception, the pre-production, talent hiring and logistics across the entire experience.

One man can be a crucial ingredient on a team, but one man cannot make a team.

EXPERIENCES MATTER

ZERØGRAND

CHALLENGE: Put the Cole Haan ZeroGrand (what would be voted one of the most innovative footwear lines in history) into an unforeseen environment to foster creative connection across the team.

APPROACH: Already having a working relationship with the leading circus arts performers in Northern New England, I engaged Circus Arts of America on a private event showcasing the “athliesure footwear” during performance.

RESULTS: 60 creatives stepped off of two busses from NYC in Maine and stepped into an environment that completely dropped them into a deep experience with their colleagues. From custom made journals, bags, to on-brand craft cocktails, and of course, an incredible private performance with over a dozen circus artists. The executive leadership team immediately came over and let us know that if this was the first of a series of unique events, we had their full blessing to carry-on.

MAINE SEAFOOD DINNER

CHALLENGE: Land the team at their resort for the weekend. Give them a taste of Maine and a run down for the experience ahead.

APPROACH: Elevate a Maine Lobster dinner with a dressy dress code, sunset cocktails on the Kennebunk Port River and a chance for the leadership team to step in and deliver their internal expectations for the weekend.

RESULTS: Everyone had left work behind and was clearly rapt in the experience. Journals were out for note taking and the dresscode was on point.

PINCH GALLERY & DINNER

CHALLENGE: Lock the team in on a goal of building the most innovative footwear.

APPROACH: For the pinnacle event of the weekend, we chose to whisk the team offsite by trolley to a modern art gallery where we had set up a ripping cocktail party surrounded by art, acoustic music and local artists. Behind closed doors, we had farm tables fully styled out and dressed for 60 with a brand color study on the walls of the gallery behind.

RESULTS: Tears were shed from laughter, joy and deep heartfelt friendships galvanized through years of shared effort building the brand.

DRIVER

CHALLENGE: Challenge the team to find a new approach to a decades old shoe - The Driver.

APPROACH: Acknowledging that the Driver was literally designed as a driving shoe, we thought what better way to craft a new shoe than to hire a stable of vintage cars, drivers and whisk a team made up of a shoe designer, shoe engineer and marketing lead to travel the beautiful coastal road from Kennebunk, Maine to Cole Haan Headquarters, about an hour away in Greenland, NH. The team had one challenge - design a new shoe during the drive and build it upon arrival at HQ.

RESULTS: We tactfully got the entire group offsite and back to HQ re-focused on their work - building the most innovative dress shoes on the planet.
