Liars & Thieves Production Company was coming to New Hampshire to film a NH based documentary of big mountain snowboarder, Jeremy Jones. The first film, Purple Mountains, was focused on the politics of climate change in mountainous areas of the US, specifically where traditional red voters met blue recreational activists.
For this project, the production company required location permitting, local production support, talent research, EQ rental, sourcing crew members and a fixer to smooth everything out in advance of the three day shoot.
Vulpine executed and provided valuable on snow support and local knowledge to ensure the team wasted no time in traveling between locations around the state.
No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it.

ABOUT THE FILM
Professional snowboarder and POW founder Jeremy Jones has always had a deep connection to the outdoors. Itʼs not just his escape—itʼs his identity, his passion and his legacy. Growing up in New England, Jeremy carved out his beginnings in the mountains, but in the years since, heʼs witnessed troubling changes: wilder weather, fewer snow days and mountain towns struggling to survive.
In this sequel to Purple Mountains, Jeremy returns to his roots in New Hampshire, revisiting the mountains that shaped him. Motivated to protect the places he loves, Jeremy embarks on a journey to bridge the political divide over climate change. He finds common ground with outdoor enthusiasts from all walks of life, understanding their hopes and fears while tackling the issue head-on—from the Mount Washington Valley to the unfrozen waters of Lake Winnipesaukee.
With stunning visuals and raw emotion, Purple Mountains Live Free Or Die offers a timely perspective going into the most critical election of our lifetimes: we may stand on different sides of the climate debate, but our shared love for the outdoors can bring us together.
CLIENT TESTIMONIAL
In my work as a director and producer of film, advertising, and branded content, I work a variety of production staff globally.
A number of years ago I made a short film in rural coastal Maine and worked with Colin Boyd as our local producer. It was an intense 3 day shoot that lead to a powerful film supporting the local opposition to the development of an industrial scale salmon farm.
I was so impressed by his ability to deftly manage constantly changing schedule and numerous locations, while still winning the trust of the locals involved, that I hired him again when I returned to New England to make a recent film for the climate action groups Protect Our Winters (POW), 11th Hour Racing, and the Alliance for Climate Action.
Colin was not only ahead of the game on a logistically difficult shoot that included remote backcountry filming, but made it happen with an affable ease that made the whole cast and crew feel supported.
I look forward to working more with Colin and bringing him on to additional productions beyond New England. I highly recommend him as a producer and happily give my recommendation in full confidence.
