50 YEARS OF SNOWBOARDING

Marking 15 years of snowboarding by pioneer brand, Winterstick was more than just an event. It offered former and current industry kingpins to gather, swap tales and celebrate a sport and lifestyle that defined lives spanning four generations.

As chief experience architect and producer, Vulpine deeply understood what was at stake and what needed to be experienced by the stakeholders, the die hard fans and the media. In conjunction with the brand, Vulpine crafted a 3x day multi-faceted brand experience at Powder Mountain, Utah that cemented Winterstick’s legacy as the founder of modern snowboarding.

CREATIVE CHALLENGE

CHALLENGE: Position Winterstick as THE ORIGINAL FOUNDER OF SNOWBOARDING by being the first to declare the 50 year anniversary of anything on snow.

APPROACH:

  • Architect Event Experience with brand stakeholders that was packed with multi-sensory brand touch points

  • Backfill 2-3 month’s of prep work

  • On-board sponsors, athletes, location hosts, lodging

  • Leverage Utah Snowboard network to support with guiding, lodging activations and attendance

  • Create custom brand swag for attendees

  • Manage ticket sales

  • PR & Media Relations

  • Put together film and photo team & content direction for event

  • Assemble on site

  • Prep for 250+ guests with VIP access to events around the mountain, establish event base camps, communications, volunteers and workflows

  • Execute a once-in-a-lifetime experience for all attending

RESULTS: This experience touched the hearts of everyone in attendance. It was a chance to flaunt the brand in a way that wasn’t possible in years of brand stagnation. While impossible to accurately measure the impact of this type of goodwill, Winterstick did end the year with the most successful spring sales on record.
